Fiona Fang on Engineers' Isolation Due to Agent Usage
Fiona Fang, head of engineering at Claude Code, pointed out that the use of agents leads to engineers becoming isolated and less likely to share experiences.
People are stopping to share experiences and are increasingly getting caught up in working with their agents. Coding is becoming "isolated."
Fang says this is a serious issue, and Anthropic is already trying to tackle it. It turns out that besides various hackathons and coding breakfasts, the company holds so-called "maker time" meetings: engineers gather, code together, and share practices for using agents.
How about you, are you coping with loneliness? 😭
